No American leader has accomplished more for his state than Governor Ron DeSantis. Now he reveals how he did it.
He played baseball for Yale, graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, and served in Iraq and in the halls of Congress. But in all these places, Ron DeSantis learned the same lesson: He didn’t want to be part of the leftist elite.
His heart was always for the people of Florida, one of the most diverse and culturally rich states in the union. Since becoming governor of the Sunshine State, he has fought—and won—battle after battle, defeating not just opposition from the political left, but a barrage of hostile media coverage proclaiming the end of the world.
When he implemented COVID-19 policies based on evidence and focused on freedoms, the press launched a smear campaign against him, yet Florida’s economy thrived, its education system outperformed the nation, and Florida’s COVID mortality rate for seniors was lower than that in thirty-eight states. When he enacted policies to keep leftist political concepts like critical race theory and woke gender ideology out of Florida’s classrooms, the media demagogued his actions, but parents across Florida rallied to his cause. Dishonest attacks from the media don’t deter him. In fact, DeSantis keeps racking up wins for Floridians. In 2022, the governor delivered a historic, record-setting victory, winning by nearly 20 points and more than 1.5 million votes.
A firsthand account from the blue-collar boy who grew up to take on Disney and Dr. Fauci, The Courage to Be Free delivers something rare from an elected leader: stories of victory. This book is a winning blueprint for patriots across the country. And it is a rallying cry for every American who wishes to preserve our liberties.

so .. .they’re writing books on “florida man” theme now ?

“Free” and “Freedom” re the two most over-used words in the conservative toolbox. Free to allow the rich to run roughshod over all of us, is what they really mean. Freedom to pave the way for a few more billionaires while unions are ground into the dirt and the middle class shrinks. Florida is a toilet.

Free to sink or swim when Florida disappears under the waves as the result of global warming.

Like Trump, but without the flair and charisma. Suitable for those repubs who can’t stand loud noises.
Mind, Trump is as funny and likable as John Wayne Cagy in a clown suit.

Thanks, that was fast! ;) I disagree with him on a number of things, but he’s principled and rational, unlike 99.9% of the people currently in charge.

The Keywords on this book are accurate.

Nice to see another wealth, and self serving ‘comic’ on the Audiobookbay.

Thank you Sir!

Lots of triggered snowflakes in the comments. ROTFLMAO
February 28th, 2023
Awesome . . . Can you say “Mr. President”
February 28th, 2023
@shpoonk Principled and rational are two of the last words I’d ever use to describe him.

He’s not Presidential. He cut his teeth in party politics and enjoys being a big fish in the little pond called State Government. As such, he throws around words and acronyms he purposefully misuses or doesn’t understand (like ‘woke’, ’socialism’, and ‘CRT’) and even enjoyed “punishing” Disney on behalf of those that feel their freedom is under attack. He’s too used to and busy enacting his campaigns to be a uniting force in Florida. There are more ‘left’-leaning people in the U.S. than right so catering to the one side to the degree he does is more of a detriment in National politics than winning elections in one state. He’s effective but when he has dumb ideas, they’re really dumb.
Andy Beshear is the only U.S. Governor I’d endorse for President. I may support one or two more anyway, but DeSantis doesn’t make the list.

I know it’s shallow but I’ll never be able to lose the image of him with his Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader rubber boots! :-)

I love that this is listed under the key word fascism.
De Santis is much more frightening than Trump and quite likely to beat Biden.
What a scary time.
White Nationalists ruining the country much like in 1898 with Wilmington.

I think it was the Nixon principle to begin the campaign on the right, then gradually migrate towards the delicious centre parts. And hit everybody on the way there. This chap seems significantly more sophisticated than that Ronald Frump cartoon character (easily accomplished, in truth).

Look at all the libtards getting triggered. Love it. Thank you!!

A True American Hero and Leader!

Soooooooo happy to be Canadian… Love to all the Americans that are nice to people; just happy this isn’t our scene…
February 28th, 2023
Do Floridians think they are freer with him as Governor? All I see is them giving up freedoms to the State.

They are feeding “conservatives” a load of manure with this fellow. He will continue Biden’s war and and start one with Iran too. He is The Lobby’s choice.
February 28th, 2023
Liberals are peeing their panties over this guy. He will make a great president.

The only book left in each Florida school library? Probably the only excuse for reading it.

Yet another wanna be dictator
February 28th, 2023
Shouldn’t this have a fiction tag, since it’s likely most of the contents will be inflated or lies?
February 28th, 2023
This man makes Florida worth living in. Hopefully he will continue to counter the woke pigs and one day become President himself to bring forth nation wide change against them.

the keywords though! <3

I’m in Florida. We’re not better off for this clown being in office. He has: wasted millions of tax dollars on his little ‘fly immigrants from Texas” political human-trafficking stunt, asked the legislature to give him millions more to waste to do it again, is fighting with Disney to take back Reedy Creek which will cost us hundreds of millions of additional tax dollars, and actively banning books in schools. He was overwhelmingly voted back in again - I hate living here.

Thank you whoever you are. I really appreciate this, honestly

the guy that loves to ban books wrote a book and is now on a book tour selling the book. He can shove it up his sweaty ass.

I thought Ron DeMentis’s goal was to burn and ban all books!
I guess just not his. I might pick a printed copy for the next toilet paper shortage.
March 3rd, 2023
Just like another author in history that wanted ban books Ron DeSantis has written has own and gone on the Mein Kampf Book tour.
How ironic is the title, “be free” only if your exactly like me!

Thank you!!

DeSantis:
Born in Jacksonville, DeSantis spent most of his childhood in Dunedin, Florida. He graduated from Yale University and Harvard Law School. DeSantis joined the United States Navy in 2004 and was promoted to lieutenant before serving as a legal advisor to SEAL Team One; he was deployed to Iraq in 2007. When he returned to the U.S. a year later, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed DeSantis to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida, a position he held until his honorable discharge in 2010.
DeSantis was first elected to Congress in 2012, defeating his Democratic opponent Heather Beaven. During his tenure he became a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and was an ally of President Donald Trump. DeSantis frequently criticized Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He briefly ran for U.S. Senate in 2016, but withdrew when incumbent senator Marco Rubio sought reelection. In 2018, DeSantis won the Republican nomination for governor, and chose state representative Jeanette Nuñez as his running mate. The close results of the general election between DeSantis and the Democratic nominee, Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, triggered a machine recount. DeSantis was certified the winner with a 0.4% margin of victory.
As governor, DeSantis resisted taking measures to slow the spread of coronavirus in Florida that other state governments implemented, such as face mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and vaccination requirements. In May 2021, he signed into law a bill that prohibited businesses, schools, cruise ships, and government entities from requiring proof of vaccination. DeSantis cut spending in Florida, which, combined with federal stimulus payments and increasing sales tax revenue in 2021-22, led to a record budget surplus for the state.[4] He engaged in recovery efforts after Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole.[specify][5][6] He was reelected in a landslide victory over Charlie Crist in the 2022 Florida gubernatorial election; his 19.4% margin of victory was the state’s largest in 40 years.

I cannot wait until he runs for President and crushes whatever limp candidate the Democrats throw at him!

Ron’s an American hero. He singlehandedly took on Disney World. Ok so maybe he didn’t win but it’s the thought that counts. He’s a man of the people. Really really crazy people.

So I’m listening to this right now. It’s read by Ronny boy himself. Honestly he sounds slightly re**r**d. And as if English is his second or third language. Exaggerated pronunciation at a really weird cadence. This is going to be tough sledding believe me.
