This is a novel, not nonfiction, about a fictional ship fighting in the Battle of the Atlantic during WWII.
The author, Nicholas Monsarrat, served as a British officer during WWII, and all of his fiction is drawn from his own war experiences.

Amazing detail, has to be one of the most precise historical war autobiographies about the corvette vs. U-boat side of WWII. It doesn’t get more authentic than this: every moment, every person, every place is a real historical fact that actually happened exactly as described.
What an exciting way to learn true history!
