I like SAS and SF books and the overall history of Special Forces Operations. These stories, when told accurately and with the requisite approvals, show the heroism, specialized training and skill that only a small percentage of soldiers can achieve. That being said, the critiques as to anything true or accurate in this book by fellow colleagues is disturbing. It’s not like “No Easy Day” by former Navy Seal “Matt Bissonnette” (pseudonym) nobody argued the accuracy but rather the right to discuss classified operations in a book. This book is challenged at it’s core by SAS operators who stood side-by-side with the author. Read it for fun but not necessarily for truth.

Fair to say that most of the book mostly covers a period when the author was on his own. Criticisms from other surviving members of the patrol were more to do with initial deployment tactics, there were no witnesses to most of the story.
