‘Home will be the open sky … each guerrilla fighter is ready to die not just to defend an idea, but to make that idea a reality.’
Che Guevara remains one of the world’s most iconic political and revolutionary figures. Fascinating to admirers and adversaries alike, he captured the minds of millions with his leadership and his belief in guerrilla warfare as the only effective agent to achieve political change.
This is Che Guevara’s last diary, compiled from notebooks found in his backpack when he was captured by the Bolivian army in October 1967 and subsequently executed. It became an instant bestseller.
Newly revised by Che’s widow (Aleida March), and including a thoughtful preface by his eldest son Camilo, this is the definitive account of the attempt to spark a continent-wide revolution in Latin America.
“Thanks to Che’s invariable habit of noting the main events of each day, we have rigorously exact, priceless and detailed information on the heroic final moments of his life in Bolivia.”—Fidel Castro

“Yes, my father killed – but revolutions are almost always violent,” Guevara’s daughter, who lives in Cuba, said in a speech in England in 2012. Oh well!

We are getting over the idea once again that killing people is bad. As long as it is people on the wrong history maybe it’s acceptable?? China, USSR, Cambodia. We’re almost there.

Always good to learn more about people who spent their lives overthrowing murderous and cruel colonial and imperial regimes, and improving the lives of millions of people.
But-but Che killed some people I approve of!
Yes, let’s compare that to the misery created by a colonial government anywhere. Lolle.
