I remember the first time that I read Pliny’s account of the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79 (this was so long ago that my teacher explained to me that some of the vulcanology in the account was probably misremembered).
So I’m really looking forward to this.
Though I’m surprised that so few people these days are aware of how tenuous the case against Hawley Crippen was: I suppose it’s just not done to question the Press, the Police, or the Church.
