When Michael K. Williams died on 6 September 2021, he left behind a career as one of the most electrifying actors of his generation. He was a committed Brooklyn resident and activist who dedicated his life to working with social justice organisations and his community, especially in helping at-risk youth find their voice and carve out their future. Williams worked to keep the spotlight on those he fought for and with, whom he believed in with his whole heart.

Im still sadden by his loss. I use to periodically run into him BK in this west indian mom n pop restaurant that made this strong ass coconut rum punch drink either to go or served at the table, Real popular in the ‘hood and outer area, and for 4 summer straight I ran into him 2-3 times on two seperate summers and mannn he was the real deal, down to earth remembered my name from our first meet , called me out 2nd time I saw him, “my man from uptown” I was impressed n touched , we became cool so much so he made me take out a Brooklyn Library card lol (Which most ppl aren’t aware that it is autonomous from the mega large NYPL ) b/c on occasions he would hold youth meetings there n wanted me to sign up as volunteer and bring some of my boys n get them to join too and have them spread the word uptown, “y’all speak they language , same ‘bloodtype’ (a slang to indicate we grew up under the same conditions, share the same cultural, pop-cultural interest n taste etc.) I did, n still do till this day. I never realized he was doing this in different states all over the countries even in Prisons with young offenders; I thought dam With such an in-demand schedule he still fit that in? He was just different, we’ve seen this type before and they all seem to go wayyyyyy before their time. SMH. great upload, although it made my heart heavy.

This is the most beautifully narrated audiobook ever.
Saddened by Michael K. Williams’life but also inspired by it. He was a great man with flaws.
