As a disabled vet, I watched my VA retirement amount plateau. Livings costs skyrocketed, government union workers pay rose by just under 90% during the Obama years and during that same time period, retirees pay rose by 0%. My healthcare cost has risen by 300%. I spent months just trying to get basic treatments done. Two diseases aren’t even covered anymore by the VA. My prescriptions cost went from $95 a month to $300 a month. Since the AHA (Obamacare), my healthcare has plummeted and so has my health. It appears to me that the left wants me to die so that I will not be a burden on society.
I served my country for 20+ years, been shot and wounded, watch some of my closest friends die, one in my arms. I will never vote for a Democrat ever again because they have basically said to me, “Thank you for your service, thank you for what you have done for us, now go to the back of the line.”
I should know, I was raised by God-fearing hard-working parents, one a social worker, and the other a teamster. The Democrats used to care for the vets, the country, and the hope for what the country can become. Now? they care more for people from other countries than their own. They hope for economic hardship to befall Americans so that they will gain back the political power.
I watched the ideals of an American future crumble under Clinton, get pacified under Bush, and tornadoed under Obama.
Obama said I could keep my health plan, and I did. I had Tricare and I still have it. I didn’t get to keep my doctor, caused he no longer accepts Tricare. But believe this, my family’s healthcare in no way cost under $2500 a year. Which is odd because I was promised, not once but twice, that would get free healthcare because of my disability.

I hope things pick up for you ralph, and you get a much-deserved break. The State can be a brutal mechanism, and it often seems to operate directly counter its own citizens’ best interests.
There are no “hero-politicians” within that system, just ones we like, and more we dislike.
Why are people so obsessed with “leaders”? Where are they going that they need so many leaders?
In office, they succeed only at failure. And then enriching themselves by securing obscenely lucrative sinecures upon leaving office. When we worship these characters it diminishes us. Imagine the contempt they must feel, even (especially?) for their supporters.
