The disturbing thing is the vitriolic nonsense in the comments section. She is in a very difficult position. 90 percent of the GOP Senators and maybe 80 per cent of the GOP Congress agree with her, but only a tiny number can say anything publically because they are terrified of the monster that Trump has created. One man, with a little help from his Russian friend has brought US democracy to it’s knees. A tired old President seems set on paving the way, by not stepping aside and allowing the Dem party to find an electorally viable alternative that people could actually enthuse about. A large chunk of the US population seems content to allow their country to descend into autocracy so long as the person sitting in the throne pretends to be “their” man. Of course Trump’s only real interest is his own skin and those such as Putin in a position to continue to help him. As for the rest of us, our best hope seems to be that one of the two Trump or Biden (ironically it may not much matter which, though for fear of the Madura effect it may be less dangerous for Biden to take the early bath despite the hope that Trump gets his just deserts), has a heart attack and keels over allowing the American public to have a sensible choice in 2014
