It was Quentin’s superior insight that brutal, sadistic violence is, in point of fact, screamingly hilarious. This led all to hail him as a conquering genius of (what used to be) celluloid.
In addition, he defended Harvey Weinstein, while also admitting that he knew about his assaults & rape of women - including an assault on his former girlfriend Mira Sorvino.
Of course, he also defends Roman Polanski, who drugged & anally raped a 13-year-old child.
He passionately defended Polanski by declaring that the child “was down with it,” and a “13-year-old party girl,” who was old enough and responsible enough to give sexual consent. He said that “it wasn’t rape,” just sex with a minor.
Of course, it’s not just Quentin, much of Hollyweird has defended notorious child-rapist Polanski.
What more do we need to know? Pure genius.

Quentin has a mind of a 12-year old. And he was basically raised by b-movies. I think he is/was more likely indifferent about the actions of his peers in business. He should have done and said more, but he also should sometimes take the foot out of his mouth before he speaks. One of the reasons he’s so keen making movies may just be because he gets laid a lot.
Anyway, great artists are generally a$$holes.

Indeed, he should say more - and less.
Might be more accurate to observe that he wasn’t so much indifferent to the rapes, assaults & paedophilia - he was actively supporting them.
In terms of his ethically responsible, exhaustive research, he has claimed “I’ve read Polanski’s book!” So, he clearly has the entire, unbiased story then.
Unless he’s specifically gone out of his way to read the court documents/transcripts, submissions & rulings relating to the crime, and the account of the actual victim of child-rape herself, of course, then Quentin can scarcely declare himself to be in full possession of the pertinent facts.

Just finished JG Ballards autobiography “Miracles of Life” - his SO was quite taken with QT, before anyone knew who he was.
