I’ll put my misgivings about this 2005 as follows:
Imagine that, in 2023, an author released something like this:
“The ADHD of Martha Washington”
Written by a “brave” lifelong sufferer of female ADHD who draws on four diary entries where Washington writes that she has had difficulty concentrating, couldn’t finish a jigsaw puzzle and, tragically, “feels so distracted today”. The book’s thesis is that, without Martha’s ADHD, there would be no republic.

Out of 16,000 books ever published about Abraham Lincoln, I’ve only read four so far, including George Saunders’ novel “Lincoln in the Bardo”. So I don’t claim I know much about Lincoln. However I think this book offers some valuable insights. My hope is some will find it inspiring, and be able to draw strength from their reading experience.
