Thanks, yes i recently downloaded the first part you uploaded a while ago. It was quite good, though i still think Richard Evans is my fave Nazis and Hitler historian. Right now listening yo his three part epic, which is also available here. Really superb.

Fritzreg, yes Kershaw is excellent, i just find his writing not very fluid and i think he tries to use big technical words a little too much. Though his form of analysis of primary sources is top notch.
Toland is also excellent, as is Bullock’s early Hitler Bio, arguably still one of the best.
However i found Brendan Simms “Global Hitler” really horrendous and that the author is a Professor at Oxford, but insists on pushing his current modern narrative about EU and Capitalism, as if this was also Hitler’s main motivation for conflict. His premise is that Hitler was Socialist :-) This narrative which is very contemporary, mainly from writers on the Right, trying to blame Socialism for Nazis is simply revisionism.

Might as well put in my vote. I’m with remittancegirl all the way: I enjoyed both Bullock and Toland in their day, but when I read Richard Evans’s trilogy as it came out I found my ideal. But these two volumes sound worth a try, so thank you AndyBook.

Loved Toland bio, my favorite. Also Evans description of the desolation of society after WW1 really helped explain the desire for order Hitler offered. I also enjoyed William Shirer’s Rise and Fall.
Other books I enjoyed(?, are you allowed to say that?), were the the Goebbels bio by Peter Longerich, and Erich Kempka’s I Was Hitler’s Chauffeur - this book you see in the mind of a supporter of Hitler.

AndyBook and Vaneyck those are all good, but not read the Chauffeur book.
Another one here which is really well researched is KL by Nikolaus Wachsmann. It covers the whole Concentration Camp history from 33. Like the Martin Gilbert’s Holocaust tome, it is superb but hard going after a while. The level of sadism described is quite a shocker. Anyways thanks to all for these great audiobooks, i automatically seed all of them!
