It’s quite unfortunate that Naomi Klein is now writing from the distorted side of the funhouse mirror. The framework of shock doctrine could have been readily applied to the pandemic, but instead, like so many critical theorists who should have had the resources to unmask bio-corporate state capture, her critical mind was stunted by covid mass-hysteria and she capitulated to the insipid dogmatism of the ruling class. How “the left” ended up carrying water for the global pharmaceutical industry while the world’s most obscene wealth transfer went on right under our noses will go down as the most significant political failure of the century.

GeorgeHegel, by the time you were writing your message in Nov 2023, over 7 million people died from COVID-19. And over 14 million people in all died because of the effects, direct and indirect, of COVID-19. (There was a serious shortage of medical resources and staff. That is just the most obvious example of excess mortality from the indirect effects of COVID) Global life expectancy fell 1.8 years from 2019 to 2021. In some areas of the world, like Southeast Asia, life expectancy dropped by 3 years. You can’t make this up. Hopefully, as I write this in late summer of 2025, you now understand that COVID-19 was & is real, and you are not allied with RFK Jr, et al.
