Philip José Farmer’s Riverworld series. Along with a remorseful, drug-addicted Hermann Göring, and a load of other historical/future lads & ladettes.

caesar, I recall reading Riverworld at Uni. I remember there was a river and some historical figures, and that’s about it. You have encouraged me to try and download the audiobook series posted in January.
